Hurricanes == Flush junkyards
It's a bit morbid but get ready for all those insurance writeoffs!

Yup, that very thought has been crossing my mind.
I've been thinking about picking up a couple of cheap M104's and a OM617 turbo'ed engine for my '81 300CD. This just might be the time for it. Don't care about the interior or electronics since I'll be scrapping out the bodies.

Maybe not. I'm expecting anything over 10 years old or body damaged newer cars to be crushed immediately due to lack of space.
Also expect newer stuff that got wet to be washed and resold. ( the interior , exterior and the title ) |

Nah, the old stuff goes to the pull a parts. Katrina and Sandy were both bonanzas.

I need a bed, transmission and cab corner for my Silverado. Maybe an LS drivetrain for my 420. I'll be looking after this storm stomps my house in Savannah. Meh. What a mess

Yup, not just newer stuff, but older high end cars too. The market gets flooded (pun intended) with cars after each major storm, by unscrupulous wash-n-shine flippers who make no mention of the car's aquatic past.

Yes, and unless the insurance pays a flood claim, the title will remain clear.

I'm glad I'm not looking for any cars right now. I gotta get rid of SOOOO many.

Who Knew ?
Earlier this year an outfit opened in Rincon,Georgia
And in the blather about a new business in the local mullet wrapper one of the owners was quoted as saying (ZomeZing Akin To): " An Excellent location for usage in case of catastrophic events... like a Hurricane in Florida" 'First time I've ever Seen or Heard Anything resembling a Used Car Sales Unit admit to Knowledge of "Submarines".

I'll be watching Copart soon and probably buying a few cars to part out.
