Mannol anti freeze

Hi folks, just flushed the coolant system clear ready for a new expansion tank, in the past I have used this which I believe is up to MB spec.

Our brands over here are different to US, if we can get some of the recommendations seen here they are normally pretty expensive.

when I was there in UK (circa 05) - BASF coolants were available at motorfactors and was not too bad in price, you need the BASF G05 formula. Its an ancient spec from mercedes benz but works best in these engines.

If you want to go absolutely bonkers you can go buy Shell ELC and forget it for the next million miles.

That Mannol stuff looks okay, used in most high end marques (and NATO) so should be good enough for my old tug

Not had any probs before, just wondered if others had tried it.

you need cavitation protection with diesels, this coolant looks similar to GM Dexcool which works okay with a lot of engines.
