it has been a fun 4 years

old blue will not pass it's bianual safety inspection due to rust.

for now, it can stay parked at the end of the drive while i figure out what to do. unfortunately, repairing is not an option at this time.

tomorrow is the last day on the road for this car & i am suprised how sad i'm feeling about it.

i am grateful for the generosity of forum members JB3 & Beeezy98102 that made the ownership experience possible. old blue is my second '85 w123 and with any luck, wont be my last

The guy I sold my 84 to a couple of years ago bought it because he was a metal fabricator and could do what needed to be done rust wise. Maybe he could help you out.

I am working with my friend Carlos in CA to collect W123 bodies in AZ and CA, where engines are gone. We'll make new from two.
Should I ask him about availability of cars/bodies?

My plan is a small fleet of perfect W123 240s with MT, possibly a 3.0l with MT for the old man, my stealth car....when I'm not driving the Citroen 2CV ---

I have a rust-free W123 shell

What's left of a 240D manual trans

production date 1/80

I have a clean clear Texas title.

Just the body, no mechanicals left, no doors, no hood, no trunk lid

But a solid body.

Someone please come save this car. It's inching closer to the gate with the

trailer awaiting its last haul, the crusher on the horizon.

I'll take ANY offer.

Send a PM for my direct contact and I'll email detailed pix

Just register it in another state, one that doesn't have Soviet Union type laws. I always keep my cars registered in Virginia. Cheap license plates and no smog tests. Painless.

in all fairness, it probably should have failed at the last inspection as the

rear passenger rocker rotted out. all 4 jack points & wheel wells crunchy

pulls like a mofo off the line tho. gonna miss that power

red w124 is dd now, been learning how she likes to be driven. its very different.

have considered turbo om617 swap (not seriously)

good news: contract signed for 72' carbon hull, possibly a 12 meter to follow, so there should be some spending money by new years
