ESP Malfunction ABS Malfunction, Service Brake Visit Workshop Can't shift out of Park

ESP Malfunction, ABS Malfunction, Service Brake Visit Workshop, Can't shift out of Park.

This is not the red Service Brake Visit Workshop.

The steering is much stiffer.

Could this be the brake supplement battery? or the Brake Switch?

Looks like I am going to be towed to the Independent.

Any ideas please?

Cannot shift out of park , first port of call is brake light switch.

It would help to know what kind of car you are working on.

Myself ( and others ) are not going to play a guessing game to determine what car is in question. And there is no need to get indignant when pressed for _accurate_ information.

I'm guessing this car has speed sensitive steering that is under command of the ESP / ABS system. I'm not sure where the shift interlock power / logic comes from. Given the raft of problems, I'd be looking for a power source common to all of these systems. Next would be scanning the ESP / ABS / EGS systems.

I would go with Murkeybenz suggestion regarding the brake light switch. From what I have read, that switch can cause a host of issues, and it is a cheap fix. Good luck!!

Car really new to you? Check for a blown fuse. Problem may have been passed along to you. Being intermittent in nature. Or a fuse just may have died from old age. The newer the car in years the sooner they age it seems.

I really do not want a 2017 or 2018 out of warranty car in my possession someday. If I were to live that long. . I have one very small electrical issue in an old 2006 tdi Jetta I acquired not long ago. I really need at least a wiring schematic to even determine what to do.

It is not my imagination either. The son in laws new loaded up Honda has both issues and a lot of codes up for the electrical system. The last time in they fixed the automatic braking system failure and wiped all the other codes telling him this happens sometimes. But the codes came up again.

Even just to locate the right fuse for the circuit in my car. The clock and trip odometer automatically reset to zero when you turn the ignition off. A problem I very well might land up living with. For example the fuse panels are not labeled and the owners manual does not correspond with the two different panels used that year. It shows the two variations in fuse panels and the fuse locations but they do not seem to be of much use. A description of what each circuit services is too limited.
