W124 Transmission Cooler Line NLA, Replacements?

Hey Gents,

I'm looking to replace a transmission line on my 91 300D. The line is no longer available from MB. Its a hard line that connects from a soft line to the upper connection on the radiator, item 130 in the image:

I don't have any tools that would let me make my own line via bending and end forming..Not quite sure where to go from here. I could try and find a used one? Maybe somehow replace it with a long soft/flex line but I don't know anything about which fittings on each end.. hmmm.

Thoughts?

Is there a crack near one of the fittings?

Also the drawing does not show if it is a metal tube or a hose.

Hi Guys,

On the 91 300D it is a metal tube going from the upper passenger side of the radiator, down and then over to the driver's side of the car.

I had a custom hose made up at Kaman Fluid Power/BW Rogers/ParkerStore. They're a hydraulic hose shop. They normally don't do much automotive work but were able to come up with fittings and hose..and made hopefully something that works!

My plan was to replace the metal hard line and the soft line with one long hose assembly.

My 300D is at the shop having the HVAC rebuild (condenser replacement is what spurred this) so I had them measure the metal tube length. I added the length of the soft line to that and had Kaman make the hose.

Unfortunately I was not able to go myself or look at the car either. Both places close long before I even could think about leaving the office lol.

Here is what they made, it might be a little bit on the overkill side of things...

Parker 436-6 No Skive High Temperature Compact Hose, 2 wire-braids, fluids up to 150C, 4000 psi working, 16000 burst.

https://www.parker.com/literature/4480-P08%20UK.pdf

Parker 1C543-10-6 Female Swivel Elbow Metric S 10 mm X 3/8 Hose Stl Ball Nose
Parker 1C343-10-6 Female Swivel Metric L 10 mm X 3/8 Hose Steel Ball Nose

Length 45 inches.

Price $84 out the door.

Here are some photos of the assembly and the other two soft lines:

Its getting dropped off at the shop tomorrow. Hopefully we got the length right and the fittings work out too. I am a little worried about the length.
