CDI Oil Separator Seals: How long before I can conclude I am leak free?

Very basic question...just replaced the seals (o-ring and grommet) on the oil separator of my CDI....original at 168k miles. I'm going to leave the engine cover off for a while to make sure there are no leaks. About how many miles before I can conclude I'm leak free?

I would assume that a couple speed runs or a several mile freeway drive would be enough to know if everything is going to seal properly. Of course the area will need to be completely clean before hand.....Rich

Take it on a 1,000 mi. trip, then you will find everything that leaks.
Seriously, I would think an hour drive at operating temp. should tell you if everything is OK.
