Why even repair old cars? Just buy a new one.

The original w123 stiker part numbers 1237200104 (left) and 1237200204 (right) are NLA from MB.
They are now superseded by w126 part numbers 1267200104 (left) and 1267200204 (right).

Why not orginals you ask? W123 owners are generally cheap.

Why pay $146 for each of these things.
Door Lock Striker 1267200104 - Genuine Mercedes-Benz - 126-720-01-04 | Pelican Parts
When you can rebuild them for $10 or so a pop.

Also because you can’t get a factory w123 striker anymore, some people may not prefer the look of a w126 stiker.

Well ;

Just this Summer I bought original W123 strikers for under $50 each from The Classic Center .

@ $100.00 + I'd be swapping out the Uro rubber parts too ! .

My personal circumstance require me to be thrifty with parts which are easily replaced. I'm talking about the gas body which I've put a 617 diesel and transmission in. I've replaced everything that requires a lot of work to replace. I've also spent or will spend over 500 on SEM paints. Every interior part has been painted except the windlace which I will recover.

I appreciate your advise and will certainly consider replacing the strikes with MB originals or the same producers' product next time.

There is a place where you can get GenuineMercedesParts for less (about $110 each for 126-720-01-04), but I can't say where.

Yeah, just delete all posts on how to rebuild something and if you see a part for sale that was rebuilt don't buy it. And if it's NLA and you find someone selling them at 100x markup go ahead and just pay it.
