On the 3.5 engines the problems just gradually get worse. With a bent or bent rods. They do not grenade to my knowledge. No reason to suspect a 3 liter will do worse.


The 3.5s with a bend rod or rods do like to consume base oil at an ever increasing rate is also pretty well established.

Are 603.96 rods individually balanced or balanced as a set?

I'd not worry about that too much, benz engine parts are very well balanced from the factory.

Gonna run it for now...

It’ll make a nice yard ornament later. 😂😂😂 I don’t think I wanna put my spare 603 into this car. I’m determined to finish the ‘93 SD..maybe. I may just let my mother-in-law drive the ‘87 on a long trip 😂😂😂😳😳😳.
