I came up with about 41.5” as well with no sunroof and a nice taught headliner - however, I want to it looks like the roof is about an inch or two taller over the driver’s seat than it is directly over the front seat bolt.

just for public record: I have a US 1982 300D without a sunroof. It has power windows, automatic, and no right side (passenger) mirror.
