Nearly all of the W123's I looked at were rode hard, put away wet, dogs, piles... You name it, they were beat. I suspect those are real hard to sell at this point, but the clean cars that are priced right seem to move right on down the road in this area.

Mercedes Motoring has no problem selling W 123 's at 15 K or better some at 25K but they are low mileage Examples

Even then the number of modern day mechanics who can properly diagnose using the OBD systems without changing good parts needlessly are few.

I got mine around 2,000. But car has good interior, I mean no tears and all intact. All working condition, few small oil leaks, air cond working, but only with short plug. So it's my summer project to replace parts.
I think iit's worth more as I have seen other cars, that are really pile of junk.

Every person I talk to wants a car that is 2010 and up. And those that would be better off buying used will suffer and make their wallets cry just to fill their egos. People always tell me, "I don't an old car, I want something new.". Then they proceed to finance it and end up with a strapped income. Instead of simply finding a nice older used car and giving it a pre purchase inspection. And then reap the benefits of a low cost, low maintenance, used car.
Not many people really want old cars, period. And almost nobody definitely wants an old Mercedes I'll joke around with people and tell them I'm selling my 300SDL for $1,000. They'll cordially say, it's a really nice car, but it's too old. I don't want it." Then I'll mention it's a diesel. This is where things get funny. Every time I mention it's a diesel, their facial expression change like they were caught off guard. Then they'll smile and proceed to look at me dead in the eyes and say, "Oh it's a diesel!?!? (As if diesels don't belong in consumer cars) I really don't want it!" Only die hard Mercedes fanatics will want to take in one these pieces of fine automotive history....Either us or those die hard hipsters who will give it a million and one stickers on the glass and body and then smack an open air cone filter on the turbo and then assume no further maintenance is need for the car haha
