Coolant for OM603
1 Attachment(s)
It's time for a coolant flush on my 1987 and I was wondering if anyone is using ELC (extended life coolant)? Is there any need for a coolant that provides cavitation protection or should I just stick with G-05? Not too worried about freeze protection here but rather corrosion. If there is a good thread already on this that I missed please point me in that direction....thanks

Stick with the G-05, change every three years, that's served me well.

All glycols resist pump cavitation. G-05 has nitrite additives specifically to prevent liner cavitation. The newer standard is Zerex G48, which is is a long life coolant without silicates.

Thanks, looks like sticking with G-05 will be my easiest option.
I tried to change the thread title since I meant to type OM603 but instead came out OM606 |
