I think that in MYs 90/91, there was the w126 350SD/SDL, which featured the 3.5L. Then, for MYs 92/93, you could get the same 3.5L diesel in the w140, but it was badged as a 300SD. Then in MYs 94/95, the diesel w140 was badged the S350D. After that, the w210s came out (with a different engine). I may be wrong, though. I was interested in purchasing a w140 diesel a few years ago....but then I got over it.

I'm certain that's not correct. Never saw either/any of them. They may have been 3.0+, but they were either 300s or W126 350SDs. W140s were never 350SD/SDL badged, only 300SDs, and S350s.

You're close.....but there never was a 350SDL badge. Not that I ever saw. The early ones were badged 300SDL. There was in fact a 350SD SWB. There never ever was a W140 350SD - that's laughable.

You (and I) did good dodging a bullet in the rod-bender W140 & 126 SDs. Besides, the W140 300SDs were dogs!

Well....several forum members who own 90/91 350SDLs (w126) would probably beg to differ. Or you could simply click on any of the Craigslist links that appeared in the first few pages of this thread....

As to the rest, diesel w140s were sold as the 300sd (with the 3.5L) and, later the S350 (also 3.5L). I looked at and test drove a 95 S350 turbodiesel about five years ago that was an amazing car to drive. The seller (2d owner) had receipts for almost $12,000 in repairs over the three years he owned the car. I decided not to become like him...

Care to share whatever you're smoking? 300SDL was '86-87, 350SDL was '90-91. There are enough members on this forum alone with 350SDL's that would be happy to prove you wrong. There are 2 of those cars in this town alone. Sometimes it pays to check your facts before declaring something so succinctly.

Some people can't admit to being wrong, it would more than certainly hurt their pride.

Sometimes it pays to check before you selectively post.

SRJ, I recently sold my '91 350SDL, and have seen at least a dozen of them. You are out-voted here thousands to one. You are the "one".

EDIT: Also, the last year for an OM603 3.0 Liter in a W126 was 1987. MY 1990-1991 W126 had ONLY the OM603 3.5 Liter.
