Manual engine shutdown lever does not work
I have a 1982 300SD owned for a little over a month ( first MB)
I was holding my jar of diesel purge and it was almost empty so I decided to just shut down the engine with the Manual engine stop lever (the key works I had a jar in my hand) and nothing happend engine kept running, couldnt push the lever any farther than it was already. do I need to adjust a linkage or something?

I was wrong in the post which I just deleted
I went out this morning and tried the kill lever with the switch in the 'run' position and it worked fine -- shut off the motor at once. I would go to the next guess, then, that you have something amiss in the linkage.
