Coconut Oil
Many, many years ago when I was in the sugar industry at the end of a seasonal campaign we would shut everything down until the next year. Many, many mild steel pieces of equipment such as tanks, boilers, and evaporators would quickly begin to rust. So the last thing we would do before we shut the lights off for the year was buy some 55 gal drums of coconut oil and paint everything that didn't move or salute. When we came back the next year everything was as we left it.
Fast forward to today I have started using this product on anything that would be likely to rust: Pam a little dab will do ya, no more rust

A similar product made for this is Rustoleum's "Rust Preventative" (or such). It has a photo of a shovel on the spray can. Sold in hardware stores beside the spray paints. It is perhaps a petroleum wax in a solvent, think cosmoline used to preserve military weapons. I keep a can on my work table since regularly spray nuts and bolts that I don't have time to paint. They say good for 6 months, but if out of the rain it may protect for years, and easy to re-spray on-car.

Yep... My grand parents use to rub warm coconut oil on their arthritic joints as a natural pain reliever. I use it in my smoothies.

PAM is a cooking spray currently owned and distributed by ConAgra Foods. Its main ingredient is canola oil. PAM was introduced in 1961 by Leon Rubin who, with Arthur Meyerhoff, started Gibraltar Industries to market the spray.

The link listed is to a 100% Coconut Oil spray. They do make another one that is Canola. The original product (1964) was Hydro Winterized Soybean Oil.

I stand corrected; the link did not open, and Googling PAM yielded only the canola oil.

Some will fill a garden sprayer with used motor oil and go to town.
