spin on filter suddenly leaking fuel 190d2.5t

I noticed a drip under the car that I traced to the secondary filter. It wasn't leaking before. Any idea what would cause something like this? weird

Maybe gasket deterioration? How long has it been on there? Maybe loosen and tighten and see if that solves it. Or just replace the filter if it's been on there for any length or time.
