Fast Upshift After Valve Adjustment

Yesterday, I did a valve adjustment on my 1984 300D. It appears now the car is upshifting much faster like at 2000 RPM. I did check the bowden cable and it is connected. I tried adjusting it and it made a tiny amount of difference. I don't think it is vacuum-related as all of the vacuum-related components appear to be working fine. Any ideas? This is really annoying.

Never mind. I got it fixed. I tried to delete the thread but can't see a button for that.

What was the fix?

Hard to explain, but the bowden cable has a sort of block off point on the bracket it connects to and the cable was over that giving it way too much range of motion. I lifted it over and undid my earlier adjustment and it is back to normal.

Yep, first thing I thought on viewing your title was bowden cable. We've all been there.
