Doing IP Delivery Valves

On the OM606. Has anyone had success NOT removing the intake manifold on the turbo engine? I've had people tell me they've done it like that, but it leaves very little room to work and very tight with the washer bottle removed and disconnected. Just curious.

???

I don’t get it. No disrespect or insult intended, but what’s so hard about removing the OM606 intake?

x2. How can you see what you’re doing? How do you get a torque wrench in there? I think it’s the 602/3 turbo delivery valves you can do with the manifold in place.

Nothing is difficult. It's easy to put on, but screwing with the EGR pipe and clamp is ALWAYS so fun.. I usually spend at 20 minutes screwing with it each time having to take it back off and on to tweak the pipe a little and end dropping the clamp or the bolt because it's very tight. I've also done the manifold removal multiple times now..

Agreed...

Yes, easily done on the 602/3 turbo engines, but there’s no good view to see or room to work on the 606 IP easily with the intake in place. It would add more time to the job than simply removing the intake would take.
