1995 E300D EGR delete kit?

Hello,

Thinking about locking off the EGR on my 95 E300D and wonder if there are any kits available? I have seen block off plates and copper discs for other models but non yet for the 95 W124.

Any ideas?

They wouldn’t be commercially available. Enthusiasts offer them here from time to time.

Yes I contacted one of the guys who offered in the past those type of kits but he doesn't have anything for a 95 model year. Will keep looking around.

Disable the vacuum to the EGR valve. Job done. If it's closed, it can't pass soot into the manifold.

When I had my 95, I took the egr valve off, and cut a small piece of sheet metal to match the shape of the valve, then bolted the valve back on with the sheet metal sandwiched against the valve.

Pretty easy with an angle grinder, drill and sharpie.

I also disabled the vacuum side of the valve, but it might have been leaking slightly as the car did perform slightly better after I put the metal plate in.

Leakage is my concern as well if I just plug the vacuum line. That is why I am looking for blocking plates. Did you use a gasket between sheet metal plate and egr valve? Did you block the round pipe between exhaust manifold and egr valve as well?

Just to close this topic. I ended up using the egr valve gasket to outline a blanking plate on stainless steel. Sandwiched the stainless steel blanking plate with a new gasket on each side and blocked the vacuum line. No leaks at all and it seems to work fine.
