om606 engine question

I picked up a 99 e300 "parts" car I'm having second thoughts on using for parts. it has 428k and a dead misfire on the 5th cylinder. I can hear compression leaking from the injector hole it's a distinct tiss tiss. it ran fine, started missing and some shop said it had a bad IP.

I've not jumped into it yet, but I was curious if these engines were sleeved or not. if the cylinder is completely dead I'd throw a piston in it and a sleeve amd call it a day

Resleeving a cylinder makes for a really long day. I wouldn’t bother with the ease with which you find 210 Diesels.

Yeah I hear ya. I find them very cheap and often. It seems worth fixing though, newer trans good paint minimal rust/body work needed.. Very well optioned too. First w210 I've got with parktronic.

I wonder if anyone knows a source for the parts as well. I feel it would be difficult.

I wish I could find them cheap and often. I do not see them come up very often around here.

An MB indy I've done a lot of work for calls me whenever something comes in the customer doesn't want to fix. Facebook works great too for finding these cars

I'm gonna dig into this beast soon and and see if there's any fuel at the injectors. Then compression test and leakdown. Depending on what it is and parts availability I might fix this car.

If anyone knows where I can source engine parts, that would be awesome. the dealer doesn't sell engine parts for it anymore they said. It'd be sweet if it was just a prechamber leaking or something

It'd be nice if it was something as simple as a lifter.

bump anyone know if it's sleeved or not
