Question 240D HVAC Vaccum Element/Actuator

O.K., Peach Parts says I need two, I only see one under the dash, it's this one :

LEG ROOM FLAP : https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/1238003175.htm?pn=123-800-31-75-MBZ

I don't see this one : MAIN AIR FLAP ON EVAPORATOR HOUSING :
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/1238001175.htm?pn=123-800-11-75-MBZ

There used to be a button to click to search parts by diagram, I don't see it anymore .

Please help .

TIA,

Stealing images from this website, isn't there one on top of the dash?

No that image is for ACC on a 300D. The manual system on a 240D has fewer pods. I thought it only had one but I guess it’s two?

Also found this image. Partially commenting for when I dive into all my flaps.

You're right; got ahead of myself. Forgot about manual AC. My bad.

Yeah I think there is one on the side near the blower and another above the center console.

Try this guy.

Performance Analysis | Climate Control | Diaphragms | Blower Motors | Pushbutton Panels | Vacuum Door Locks | Autotemp | Cruise Control | Engine Oil Analysis | Mercedes-Benz Parts | Mercedes-Benz Club of America | Oak Ridge | Car Care - Home | Perfor

He's got the diaphragms for the ACC stuff. I am sure he has what you need, even for manual A/C.

He’s not getting any younger. It’s probably wise to get a full set of diaphragms from George if you have any plans of keeping these cars.

Lightbulb MORE Questions

THANX GUYS ! .

None of those images are for the manual 1981 > H.V.A.C., I only have the one vacuum element and it's now on order .

I wish I was allowed to post attachments .

Anyways, I have another HVAC question :

Once the system is converted to R134a, what are the high and low pressures at rest and with the system operating and engine at 2,000 RPM ? .

TIA,

Post Manual (three Dial) HVAC Vacuum Elements

I forgot to mention :

After 1980 there's no leg flap vacuum element ~ the leg flap is controlled by the two horizontal sliding levers .

It looks like someone's been into my 240D's system before, the hot water valve bowden cables are mis adjusted and the valve leaks .

Peach Parts says Mercedes has discontinued this valve plus the various superseded ones, I was able to find an N.O.S. one and ordered it, looks like my A/C fiddles are not done yet .

I ordered the Freon leak detector after using one to quickly find my leak (another DPO mess) so after I relearn A/C I hope to use it to get my 300TD's A/C going again .

Question Vacuum Actuator _PIN_

There's a little plastic pin that snaps into the end of the vacuum actuator's arm, I can't seem to find it, any ideas ? .

I'm sure it's the same one used on the center vent flap actuator, the one everyone always drops .

TIA,

These worked well.

https://www.newark.com/multicomp/030-0005/pin-thumb-tak-ic-tube/dp/07WX7945?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIpvTxyb3g-QIVvsmUCR0FlAUOEAYYAyABEgLuovD_BwE&mckv=_dc%7Cpcrid%7C%7Cplid%7C%7Ckword%7C%7Cmatch%7C%7Cslid%7C%7Cproduct%7C07WX7945%7Cpgrid%7C%7Cptai d%7C%7C&CMP=KNC-GUSA-GEN-Shopping-PMAX-Med-ROAS

The problem is finding somebody who has some. They’re IC rail pins for microchip shipping and auto feeding tubes. Basically packaging trash after you dispense the chips. Know anyone who orders chips by the tube? They’ll be drowning in these little pins. I had oodles fifteen years ago when I rebuilt my 240D HVAC.

Otherwise try a screw with a dot of superglue on the nut.

I cannot remember. Too long ago. Can you get anywhere by removing the glove box?

Post 240D HVAC Service

I took that out first .

I'm sure someone here has done all this before.....

The vacuum element has four tabs that snap into a flat metal bracket, I'm not sure how that comes apart either .

Help me out guys .
