A/C Blower

Well, last week I got my A/C working in my 75 240D.... Converted to R134a and it blew Nice and cold. Really surprised me!!
BUT!! My blower started squeeking Saturday, and then.....
smoke and nothing blew... Motor is almost locked up...
Do I have to remove the WHOLE A/C BOX to get it out?????
I can get all the clips off but 1 little screw in the center behind blower wont allow me to removw the front part of case holding the fan.

Any Idea on removing this?????

Help PLEASE!!!!!
