I'm not sure why PP wants so much for them.
Found them to a little over $6 elsewhere.

So Diseasel300 says that Bendix calipers also come with the ATE style nub retaining pins. Can anyone confirm? I have been working with them for 35 years and have never seen one without the cotter key style pins.
Just want to make sure that I have the correct information. I do note that all the Pelican Bendix calipers have cotter keys with the pins. |

Mine had the cotter pins. However, I can only vouch for a single experience with W126.
As I said, for $6 why gamble on something not working. Last edited by SD Blue; 03-09-2018 at 03:58 PM. Reason: Durn autocorrect! |

Brake caliper hardware fell out again upon inspection of the brakes.
Looks like I'm having trouble correctly installing the AC Delco hardware. I'm trying to find any references online on how this hardware goes in but no luck. Can anyone clarify how the hardware goes in the caliper? I know that the pins slide thru the caliper, my problem is the how the retaining clips and cotter pins should be fitted. The spring clips go in first. They are upside down in the pic. The pin then slides over the clip and holds it down. The open side of the clips goes toward the middle of the brake caliper and the solid side is held down by the pin. I think I always put the cotter key on the inside. It has been a while but that is what I remember. If it is a problem, pull off a non-offending wheel and look at the spring clip.
Finally found a pic. It is in Photobucket but they no longer let me attach it for free. So I took a pic with my iphone and emailed it to myself. Maybe you can see the spring clips here. May be easier to see if you turn it sideways. Whoops. Upon further review the cotter keys are on the outside; not the inside. Glad that I looked. https://imgur.com/k6umvzV So I tested with imgur and it worked. Maybe a better pic. Last edited by tyl604; 12-21-2018 at 09:45 AM. |

I figured out that the tyl604's Bendix caliper is not the same as mine. His has a "hump" to catch the clips in. With regards to my caliper, that area is flat. Actually this caliper is the wrong type. The brake pad sensor is sitting there by itself doing nothing.
Long story short caliper is incorrect fit, will probably need to go to the boneyard and grab the correct one. Hopefully they still have caliper rebuild kits and this won't too big of an issue. I apologize I should have known better. Here is a link showing pic of incorrect caliper Bendix caliper with item #336732 https://imgur.com/gallery/9KJ4mkI Compare Tyl604's picture to mine and you'll notice they are infact two different calipers. The item numbers on them differ as well.
