If vstech is doing it about three hours. If I'm doing it about three days.

Is this true of W123's only, or does it apply to W126's as well?

Replacing the motor mounts and transmission mounts made a world of difference on my 300d and my brother's 420sel. I second cleaning the motor mount bolts and perhaps spraying them before hand with a copious amount of Kroil before trying to unscrew them. It made the job a lot easier. It is a task unto itself, took awhile, but made a huge difference to the ride and feel to the drive/ride in both vehicles.

Changing out the motor and trans mounts made a massive difference in the drive quality of both of my 300D and 380SL. Definitely improves that "supple" feeling.

My oil cooler lines were leaking and I took the time to replace other bits while I was in there. I would replace the lines at this time, especially if they're old and hard. I hate redoing jobs.

There's a scary picture on here by TylerH with an exploded cooler line. Best way to quickly scrap an om617.

On the flats of the new engine shocks, a 7mm is just not quite large enough. An 8mm, OTH, is too large. I'm thinking of taking a metal file and filing down the flats on the new engine shocks. Could this cause possible damage to the new engine shocks?
