Hi folks,

I need some help finding a repair part for the front drivers side power window on my 1983 300D.

Long story short, I need the metal part (channel) that the bottom of the window glass slides into. This part then bolts to the regulator. My channel piece rusted completely out and came off of the window.

The regulator is fine, but the channel that hte bottom of the window slides into is pretty much gone. The bad part is I looked al over and I cannot fine the piece I need. (Peach parts, Rock auto, local parts store, E-bay, amazon, etc turned up nothing)

I live in the boonies and the nearest dealer is over 200 miles awy, so ordering online is best.

Help!! I need to find this part.

Not sure if that part is available separately. I have had to replace windows on other cars and the strip was part of the new window assembly, not sold separately. May have to just get a junkyard window and swap out.

You will be sourcing a used window. Many here have parts cars that have it and will likely never use the window for anything except keeping the weather out. Which window do you need? Sorry, I only have SDs.

Go to Row52 | Find recycled automotive parts from self service auto recycling yards!. You can enter parts that JY pickers can bid on supplying, if no JY near you. WA is one of the better states to find old W123 diesels.

I will check row 52, but just the same, is there anyone here that has a drivers door window with the metal channel on the bottom that they are willing to part with. Please let me know.
