For OM617 Is the short coolant hose near the thermostat in the Peachparts parts catalog?

It's just a 42mm (1 5/8") straight hose, you can get it literally anywhere that sells radiator hoses. I used silicone, but it doesn't matter much. The aluminum corroding is what leaks.

I do suspect it was the aluminum corrosion. I haven't taken it off yet.

I bought blue silicone hose off ebay, and 42 mm sounds familiar. ~3 ft so enough for both my cars forever. Before removing the T-stat housing, have a new gasket on hand and smart to also service the cam chain tensioner since it will be exposed. The spring usually has worn flat on one side. Need a new gasket for that too. Gaskets and spring are avail from P-P. Of course, clean thoroughly before removing the tensioner.

Also, if all you can find is 1 1/2" it'll work (lots of cars use that size for radiator hoses). Being nice and tight is a good thing anyway.

I used the inch and a half when mine started leaking. After getting it off I realized the aluminum pits were most likely the problem and I didn't want to take time to have a hose shipped. Had their been one in town I would have used the MB hose.
