Mercedes 2007 or 2008 ?
A car dealer sold me a E 320 Diesel as 2008.
The car plate show as manufactured in 07/07. Dealer said that every car year always start on the middle of the year. Ex. from 07/07/2017 to 07/07/2018 car is 2018 - 07/07/2018 - 07/07/2019 car is 2019. Is that correct? Can this car be considered 2008 even made on 07/2007? Thanks

Yup. Traditionally the best month to buy a car was June, when the factories shut down for retooling and the dealers want to move old stock. New models would go on sale in September.

Yes. This happens with every single brand.

I thought they crept far beyond "6 months early" con by the late 1990's. I recall seeing some "2000" models being sold ~Sep 1998. My son bought a new 2017 Prius for only $17K ~June 2017 because it had been sitting on the lot over a year.

Correct.
My new 2017 Chevrolet C7 was built in 08/16. |

Try this one on; GM Chevrolet Corvette Division, started building their 2019 MY (ModelYear) Corvettes in January 2018.
