The "Perfect" mileage

My E320 racked up exactly 77777 today. I am a student of Bible Prophesy, and 7's are significant. I wonder if this means anything?

Neat ~

When I was younger I remember taking road trips just so I could watch the odometer roll over to zero again.....

Not as lucky as you, but I rolled straight 3s in my 300SD a while back. I think it means my car has been used a lot.

I remember pulling over and getting a pic when my Mr2 hit 200,000.00 miles, that was kind of neat.

If hitting 77,777 brings you happiness or provokes further thought/insight/introspection, enjoy that.

Just not the same feeling in cars with LCD odometers.

The 3 is God's number.

It means you will soon rack up 78,000.

It means you were lucky enough to get the camera out to capture the event! Every time I'm watching for a mileage to show up, I always forget about it, get distracted, or leave the phone in my pants pocket so I can't get to it.

Forget the mileage though.....18.9mpg? Please tell me this is a big truck or you did a LOT of idling?

I actually saw all the 7's approaching the other day. I happened to look at my odometer a block before home, and drove up and down the street before parking in the garage and taking the photo. The car is an '07 E320 Bluetec. The trip mileage displays an average ("after start"), and changes rapidly as the car is driven. It usually settles around 24ish with around town driving. I have gotten around 40 on a long easy highway cruise. It gets an average of 28-32 MPG on a full tank, with actually computing the miles driven with the gallons used (the onboard computer is very generous, most always displaying a higher number than I actually get)......Rich

Too bad a bunch of coins didn't start pouring out of the dashboard when you hit those 7s. I wonder what happens at 666,666?

If you're getting 28 to 32 mpg around town, that's awfully high. My CDI's is 24 to 26 mpg around town. Also, you're going to need to do about 10 fill ups in a row to get the average with accuracy not just one. Your transmission is on C. IIRC, you've locked out 1st gear. The C is for weather/Winter surface conditions.

I recently bought a new car that had a yellow line zoning the tachometer from the 4,000 RPM line Up. At the 500 mile mark, the yellow instantly disappeared, you to drive through the 4,000 RPM threshold w/o the warning line.

That was kinda cool.

That is cool.....did the ECU also prevent the engine revving that high? Waiting that 500 miles in a new car always seems like an ETERNITY! All you want to do is go out and floor it to see what she's got!

My choices are C (comfort?) and S (sport?). Are you saying that in C I am starting in second gear? If so, I hadn't noticed. You are correct that I need to check the mileage over more than a couple fill ups. The few times I checked it, I did combined driving- city and highway.
