1st gen exterior lower plastic trim question.

I intend on stripping bumpers and lower trim off the exterior of my project car for refinishing. I've mulled over the FSM on removal and replacement of the fender, door and quarter panel trim but the typical plastic trim removal tools won't pop the plastic clips loose on those parts.

Can anyone direct me to the right tools to remove those panels so I can prep and paint them on the bench?

I have a 85sd,working on the front fender I removed the trim. There is a small screw in the end were it terminates in wheel well then you slide forward to front of car.
That's how I removed the qtr panel one. I haven't removed door panel yet.

I got stumped by the door panel but it is possible or likely that I wasn't reading the FSM accurately.

The car is a 1st gen w126 too. I get a bit over excited when I start a new phase of my project.

Nope,

the service manual plainly show a tool inserted between the trim and frames on the doors and fender.

Unfortunately it doesn't show the business end of the tool.
