300SDL transmission leaking here
Leaking quite badly here. I put a paper towel where the plastic meet the transmission casing and it is soaked through with fluid overnight. What is that cable, Control pressure cable? What does it do and how it is mated to the tranny? How to fix the leak?

There’s an o-ring between the end of the control pressure cable and the transmission case. You have to drop the pan to release the hook at the end of the cable to replace the o-ring (or the cable). If you don’t have the dexterity, you have to drop the valve body to reattach the cable.

You can order the OE o-ring if necessary. I'm thinking that none in my HF kit fit and I couldn't find the correct one locally. It is great when a problem is so easy and cheap. There are 2 cables for the 722.3 trans that splits by VIN. I suspect that trans number is harder to find information on.
There are threads and vids on changing the bowden cable. Dropping the valve body isn't difficult.
