300TD Wagon sells on BAT for $35k!

WOW talk about a steal,.................... for the seller! This is what my buddy calls, "A new dress on an old whore"! If you read the commits you would think this was a 30k mile original car! Bottom covered in black undercoating covering over a lot of rust, spliced fuel lines and overspray paint on the rear bumper rubber on the sides. You can see the bad rocker repairs at the jack points. Yet they all drooled over midnight blue paint with a blue interior. Oh well, as P.T. Barnum says, "There is a sucker born every minute"

I'd have sold them mine for $30k... what a steal that would have been!

I've seen many people buy a car just because the paint job looked spectacular. The rest of the car was a different story though.

Having just spent 6 months cutting and welding on my $3000 300CD, I can say this picture scares the hell out of me. I can only imagine what the inside of the rockers look like.

Bat goes nuts for wagons, been watching these auctions go off the rails for a while. Coupes don’t do so well, even though they are the rarest of the three main body styles.

Five bucks a can for undercoating and you can cover a host of defects!! Like the old saying goes..............."One mans junk is another mans treasure"!!!!!

Definitely a price bubble going on here. Paying $35,000 for a 300 diesel wagon with over 100,000 miles on it is pure foolishness. It's got more rust starting on it than my 1984 300 D that I bought last year for $4,000.

But why on earth are these wagons fetching such ridiculous prices? It's not like they're all that hard to find. And no, 130,000 miles is NOT "low mileage".

Definitely a seller's market for these Benz wagons on "Bring a (cash-laden) Trailer" now. Sell 'em while they're hot!

sure makes me feel good about my blue 300td, it's got the sls fixed and some rust protection too haha.

3speed auto in one and airbag in the other - legit trustworthy sellers there. Perfect rare (painted) condition!

It doesn't say there's an airbag in it. It very clearly says the opposite.

I had a pile of "service records" with my w123, after looking through it, most of the papers were useless information. Salesmen are like storytellers...
