OM603 Cyl Head / Pre Chamber Machining Q
Hello Fellow Diesel Geeks.
Having some difficulty finding some information. Am converting my OM603.961 from a 014 to a 017 cylinder head due to mysteriously missing coolant and higher temps during high load driving. I acquired a complete 017 head (pre-chambers, injectors lines etc.) and it is currently at the machine shop getting a refresh. It was at the upper limit of OK for bend so I had them deck it .010." My understanding is that the head height should be 142.9-143.1 with a min of 142.4mm. With Pre-chamber protrusion of 7.6-8.1mm. I have found the part numbers for the thicker seals for P/C protrusion correction and have read of head gaskets that are thicker to correct for machining but solid info has eluded me. Since a thicker head gasket will change the effective deck height where can I find more information on the thicker head gaskets? TIA Jeff |
