I have owned the same 84 CD for 13 years in Canada and it's been a great vehicle absolutely amazing to drive. I've only taken it to a garage twice in 13 years and that was for an alignment which they just can't seem to get correct on these vehicles.

I would say that it is indeed leather, my CD has a leather interior and yours looks more like mine than MB Tex. I think usually when warm the leather stays firm and the MB Tex has a little stretch to it if that helps.

With the rear seat bottom and panels removed you can cycle the windows up and down and see what the issue is. Most likely a simple fix either a bent or binding lift arm.

If you are interested I have a set of rear crank regulators for a coupe that I bought and never fitted.
Great to hear your supporting details regarding the leather! The weekend can’t come soon enough so I can finally spend some time with her!

I’ll take a look at the regulator too and see what’s happening there. I’ll be in touch about the parts!

I first thought the stance was a bit odd, looking jacked up on the rear, but after packing the trunk full of stuff for a family vacation, kids in the back seat, and a bike rack with 3 bikes cantilevered off the rear bumper, it makes complete sense.
There is also a certain "get outta my way" aspect to it.
Nice example there. There are some plastic bits that wear out in the rear window lifts that allow them to bind. I found a good cleaning and lubrication did wonders if you have a clean example to work from.
