The 3.5 makes 228 torques at 2000rpm. It'll be just fine. With the 2.65/4spd these cars were geared far too short. The biggest advantage of the 722.6 is the lockup TQ and closer ratios.

Thanks, I'm discussing this with a local workshop now. They're specialized in European cars and are familiar with the older models. I'm not in a hurry but if the cost of this swap is not outside of my budget then I might do it. I still have to get a better understanding of the controllers. It pays to take time for research.
