Help Please - O-Ring Part # OM617
Application is the OM617.95X Turbo Engine. I am looking for an O-Ring. That O-ring goes on the nipple next to the turbo drain tube. That nipple is connected to a steel tube which goes to the air cleaner. That air cleaner set-up is what I generally understand to be called or referred to as the cyclonic oil seperator.
The O-Ring goes on the nipple down by the upper oil pan on the passenger side / right hand side of the engine. Not interested in getting a general / generic O-ring kit and just find one that looks right. Looking for the actual part #. I looked a bunch last evening and no dice ... |

A 000 997 26 45, upper and lower o-rings are the same are the same on the oil separator tube..
I believe they are same as the 2.0mm C.S. X 7.0mm I.D brown FKM o-rings I sent you back in December (for use on the upper goove of the oil canister lid shaft). PM me if you need a few more.

I have a generic kit w/different sizes and I can usually find something that works out of the kit. In other words, I'm no help at all!

My notes say O-Rings (2) # 004.997.53.48 and # 617.187.01.85 for the grommet at the bottom .

I think that part goes to the turbo drain tube. Those o rings are around the size of a quarter

Correct ~ the size of a quarter and fat in the cross section .

Correct part number is actually A 006 997 26 45.
I mis-read the "6" as a "0" when I looked it up in the EPC. It is also used on the oil dipstick, and is NOT used on the oil canister lid shaft. Sorry about any confusion I caused by my forgetfulness.

Alec and a few others are correct I believe. I ordered a few and will try to post a follow-up on my other thread. Going to make NGaRover’s old engine proud. It’s missing altogether

Wow, you sound like the fussy original owners we see in the early posts. Most moved on and left us bottom-feeders who can get 'er done. Hope you don't get too frustrated in the near future since OEM parts are drying up and you must think like a hot rodder. O-rings, roller bearings, V-belts, etc are generic parts. For the location in question, I used an O-ring from one of my Harbor Freight kits. I would have used Viton (brown) if had one large enough, but probably HBNR (green). Fit tight and no leaks after several years.
