3 Attachment(s)
2012 S350 BlueTEC 4Matic (W221)
Picked up Saturday in AZ. 1798 miles home. 33.11mpg average for trip Payson, AZ to Grand Junction, CO, 501 miles, 35.36mpg Grand Junction, CO to Gothenburg, NE, 537 miles, 31.95mpg ( uphill stop/go traffic for 20 miles/90 minutes prior to the Eisenhower Tunnel ) Gothenburg, NE to Sioux City, IA, 300 miles, 32.22mpg ( heavy rain the whole day, enough on the road to hydroplane a 4800lb. car ) Sioux City, IA to northern MN, 460 miles, 32.81mpg ( 300 miles of heavy rain ) One owner, dealer maintained with an open checkbook. Oil cooler replaced ( not just the seals ), front air-matic shocks replaced when one was leaking. Distronic Plus Cruise control. For 90 minutes in stop to 20 mph traffic going up hill to the Eisenhower Tunnel on Monday of Labor Day weekend, I did not have to touch the brakes or accelerator. On the trip home, we stopped and picked up my 2005 E320 CDI that we drove to the airport. I drove it 160 miles home after driving the S350 for 1500 miles. It is not as quiet, (I can hear the engine), it is not as smooth on rough roads, but it is still a very nice car to drive. |
Nice vehicle. The W221 feels much larger but the suspension is very smooth.
