1 13/16 socket
Found the above socket way in the back of my tool drawer. Trying to remember what it's for. It's equivalent to a 46 mm metric socket. I think I remember that it is used to remove the strainer from my long gone 240D fuel tank. Is that right? Anything else it's used for? Does it fit anything on my E300D?

Yup, strainer on the fuel tank. About the only thing I can think of.

Quite a change in your car stable since we last were in NC! We once had a 2006 Smart diesel. My wife loved that car. They just did away with the EV incentives in our province, so no EVs in our immediate future! By the way - looks like you have a storm heading your way - take care! Back to subject. I don't know what the oil filter housing is like on your 300D, but on our E320, a 46mm socket is needed to remove a large nut that holds the filter housing in place. (Your filter is probably different) I had to buy one. Luckily very cheap at Princess Auto (our Harbor Freight) Item 41 in diagram: https://www.benzworld.org/forums/attachments/w210-e-class/654777d1384905843-removing-big-bolt-mounting-engine-oil-oil-filter-w210.pdf
