1974 240D automatic transmission fluid
Team,
I am on to the next stage now and I have done the following to the transmission: 1. Cleaned outside to get rid of all the baked stuff; 2. Drained the transmission fluid from the converter and transmission; 3. Changed the filter element; 4. Purchased new linkage bushings and working on them; and 4. Cleaned the cooler pipes. Now, How much ATF do I need to put in it, and what grade? |
722. ATF
I'm sure someone here will give you the details but I was told to use Valvoline ATF of a specific typ, it came in red gallon jugs, I bought two gallons .
Were I anywhere near it I'd go look at and tel you the specifics but I *think* the store only had one typ of Valvoline ATF in red jugs . |

Paint Choices
I'm serious here ;
I've been a Mechanic for 50 + years and owned an indie shop, I have seen all manner of interesting drive line and vehicle painting done, in the end whomever is paying for it is right . My self, I like original ,looking paints, I don't just spray everything under the hood black like the lazy used car lots do to hid the damage . The contrast of alloy and brackets painted colors looks really good to my eyes and makes me smile and want to take better care of the machine whenever I pop the hood . I've had more than a few Customers who painted their cars purple or harlequin ~ GAH to me but then _I_ don't have to be seen driving them, right ? . |
