w123 tach shaft broke off
hi all I tried yesterday to remove a tach needle on my diesel tachometer to solder some new caps. Unfortunately the needle shaft broke.
Could I use the 300sd mechanism and swap it over? Both has + and TD. |

I had the exact same thing hapen to me about a month ago. Not sure if the SD tach wil work or not, but common sense thinking tells me it should. Just look on the back of your tach and see if the electrical connector is a 2 pin or a 3 pin.
Mine was a 2 pin style so I ended up getting a used 300D 2 pin tach off E-bay. Good luck!

2 pin see first reaction. Both same. Just want to swap in the mechanism.
How do you remove the needle? |

I've removed the needle by using 2 spoons as levers. Put something like cardboard or thin wood down so you don't scar the face. Most of the time it works. Just go easy.

I got the needle off with a fork and reversed it so it can put force on the carton and faceplate a few minutes and it was off thanks all.
Now the question is I replaced the clocks caps with 470Uf instead of the 100Uf will the clock go faster or slower? The 470Uf is also 16V |
