My wife took a welding class at the local city college a few years ago, just for fun.
And, she loves our Diesel wagon. We drive it on every fishing trip - she loves to fish - and so whenever she gets in it, with the lingering smells of my cigars, it reminds her of a fishing trip.
We ought to post a poll of what our wives/significant others think of our Diesels.

Tom, where in Jersey do you live? I wanted to roll a new chain in my SDL but I am afraid of screwing something up. If I pay you something do you think you could help me out rolling a new one in my SDL?

deisel chicks

Both women who have driven my 300td have totally surprised me. Normally something so uncool would provoke endless mirth about what is basically a very comfortable van (esp with manual transmission) but no...both were very surprised about how easy it was to drive, and when they learned the difference between petrol and deisel were satisfied with it's pull. My sister looked more relaxed driving than I've ever seen her (normally a complete cyclepath!) and I could tell the missus was sorry when I eventually got her car working again.
BTW, one big plus for them they said was the amazing power steering - they loved it.

I think now we should all start posting pictures of wives or girlfriends posing suggestively with the diesel. Any takers?

Both my daughter and wife love their 240Ds. They both have helped me in the shop at one time or another and have even seemed to enjoy doing it! My daughter's boyfriend was so impressed with diesels that he happened across a very nice 300SD and is now "hooked".

My girlfriend's up to it, but gotta wait 'till the weather warms up...and I gotta get the 300D nice and shining first.

BTW, she hardly knew what a diesel was before she met me...now she wants one too. Just gotta find a 240D or 300D that she can afford...

Talking

Hah-ha.. My wife use to drive my 240 once we got married. It was a stick and she complained that it was tooooo slow. I taught her how to drive a stick in this car by the way. She would also say that it was tooo big. A 240D too big?

Then she got into an accident and the car got totaled. After the accident, she told me to find another w123 body car. She was impressed as to how safe and sturdy the car was. She;s never talked about how slow the 240 was ever again..

Luckily, she was fine after a few weeks of therapy. She was sore all over...
