I have a euro 300TD turbo with manual climate control. Heat was working fine but the blower motor had been making some noise and only working on high or low setting. So I figured I would take it out to clean and possibly change brushes. Anyway, I pulled it out, and the motor was some generic/universal motor which doesn't seem worth servicing. And in general I've been working at getting rid of any generic/aftermarket parts I've come across. I tracked down a replacement euro blower motor, but I also noticed some kind of aftermarket thermostat wired up as well--A Ranco Slenderstat. I'd love to get rid of that too and replace with whatever part it is standing in for, but I can't seem to track down any parts diagram or images that clearly map out the manual system. Specifically the parts under the passenger dash. Can anyone point me to the specific part or part number that thermostat is standing in for?
Also, the post title says 'euro', but any 240D with manual climate control should be similar.
thanks!
