Key heads, anyone?

I'm going to cut metal this week!

They'll be black anodized, brushed aluminum finish, and $35 each for the first run. I'll have 25 of each. Another run is possible, but not guaranteed. PM me if interested. I preserved the exact shape of the original key.

Unlike the other guy who made something similar a few years back, I will ABSOLUTELY NOT take payment until I have them in hand and ready to ship out.

If someone wants the clear prototypes, I'll even sell those. They are pretty cool in their own way.

Thanks to Maximan1 for shipping me an original W123 key from his car for my prototyping work.

There are both models -- notice the two shapes of key through the clear head

The w124 and w126 are both the rounded style on the left.

Nice work. Looks like you mill both sides. Unfortunately I just spent a week making up some for myself recently. Looking forward to seeing the metal version.

I love those plated steel keys.

Will do. My assistant is wrapping up the last of the design files for another project today, and then we will get these into the queue for milling and anodizing. It's generally a quick turnaround (7-10 business days or so) for machining and ano once I approve the design files.

Put me down for one of each, please. Sorry I didn't have the later W123 key available for you to work with - glad someone else was able to help out.

I'll have 25 sets in black, and 5 sets in red of each type (by someone's request who carries two keys wants to tell them apart!). I expect them to be finished around the week of the 21st. I've got a few spoken for here, and a quite a few more on the facebook groups.

Once I have them ready to go, I'll start taking payments. Check the google sheet below to start adding your names to reserve one or more.

The heads are machined, finished (brushed) and ready for anodizing. They should be ready to ship in about a week or so.

Yep, noticed the change at top of thread.

According to the net, the labs tag line was a take off of " Honeywell Labs, a technology company which aired TV commercials ("That someday is today ... at Honeywell") well-known at the time of the original Muppet Show. "

Here is the pic source.

I'd be interested in a clear one, let me know how much you'd need to get for it. Sharp looking product!
