Question Big Road Trip to Boston

Hi Folks,

Our family is taking a trip from PEI down to Boston in July. This is our first big road trip with our 82 240d. We'll be travelling through Maine, NH then to Boston.

1. Any thought on where I should or shouldn't buy diesel fuel?

2. Also any good MB graveyards on the way where I could pick up a few used parts?

3. As far as buying new parts, where would be the best & cheapest place? (I know, this sounds like an oxymoron!)
Thought I might check out PEP BOYS?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

ps I'm soften up the spouses's thoughts on maybe buying another cheap MB diesel to drive home. I heard Boston is full of them - MB's that is - not cheap ones?

As for where to buy diesel, stick with truck stops. For the direction you are coming from, I don't know of any spefici places. If you were heading for Cape Cod, I could be of assistance. I have family that lives on the Cape. I would not buy any maintenance items from Pep Boys. Everything they have is made by who knows who. OK, maybe I would buy oiland some cleaning items, but that's about it.

I live in the city of Boston and I usually go to the Texaco at Fenway Park just because it's the closest station with diesel that I know. Yes it is full of MB's.. new ones though.. but I'm sure that you'll see lots of W123's..
