What's The Best Brand Driveshaft Support Bearing Carrier Available?

Genuine Mercedes driveshaft rubber center bearing supports (123 410 10 81) are no longer available. So, what's the best alternative in quality of the rubber? I would assume Febi, but have heard they are made in China and not everyone is happy with them.

Then there's Meyle and ÜRO, neither which are typically know for outstanding quality--but the ÜRO comes with what seems like a high-quality Japanese bearing pressed into it--then again, I read about a case where one of these bearings fit too sloppily on the driveshaft.

Rein is apparently made in India, which in my experience has rubber that dry rots in a week. Vaico might be a decent brand, possibly made in Germany if their parts are anything like their transmission parts, and theirs has the bearing pressed in.

Hamburg Technic is apparently low quality. MTC comes with the bearing, but I am unsure of the quality. Hopefully there is a decent quality and long-lasting rubber driveshaft support to be had! The original has lasted 39 years and appears to be in decent condition, so I'm wondering which will last longer--a 39-year-old original part, or a new aftermarket part. There's little more frustrating than installing a new part and having it fail sooner than the original would have.

I have a 3 month old URO temp sensor that is bad, and a brand new MTC aux pump leak from the shaft seal. My Meyle door strikers appear to be ok though.

Yeah, and that's exactly why I try to stick with genuine Mercedes parts as much as possible. Sadly, more and more parts are becoming either exorbitantly expensive or no longer available, and I'm finding that even more reputable brands like Lemförder are coming in boxes marked made in Taiwan or China, and look like they've been thrown around the factory and have damaged boots.

Installed URO driveshaft support bearing on the 78CD two years, and a little over 20K miles ago. Checked last fall, and looked good, will check again when weather gets better.

Thanks, but I think that if I order it, I will get a message stating it's no longer available, as they get them directly from Mercedes, and they are no longer available from Mercedes. I just went through the same with with the no longer available 123 part number drag link--websites will show them as in stock, but then they come back as "backordered with no ETA".

The ÜRO brand ones are advertised as having Japanese NSK or German INA bearings. I'm probably more concerned about the quality of the rubber, though.

Installed a Uro center support bearing about a year ago and put 10k miles on it.

I had to replace the rear flex disc which required me bending the driveshaft with a crowbar to fit him in.

Last weekend, I dropped the exhaust to fix my parking brake. I took a look at him and he's doing fine. Looks about as good as the day I put him in.

I tore my German Meyle driveshaft bearing support was shoving the drive shaft around. I order another and they are now from China or at least mine came from China. It has only been on about 3 months so can't say as to longevity.

I reused the bearing from the old one.

I ordered the genuine Mercedes one from ECS Tuning just to see if they actually have it, since they are no longer available from Mercedes. I'll see what happens in a few days.

Personally I have been looking at Meyle and Febi

Recently and accidentally purchased a Meyle Upper control arm bushing and it was labeled made in Germany.

While the febi part is made in Taiwan along with lemfoder upper control arms, I read an ebay listing saying it has a FAG bearing and showed it in the photo. FAG was OEM on these vehicles.

At this point, make sure the part carries a good warranty, lifetime would be ideal. And ideally no one wants to do a job twice. Otherwise get an app or check weekly on ebay for NOS.

Four days after ordering the genuine Mercedes part from ECS Tuning, I got an email stating that there is a delay in the order and the part is expected to arrive to them in a couple of weeks. So I wonder if a new batch of them are being made? Or maybe there are some other shenanigans.

buy europeon, and free europe. I buy parts like this from here.Cost more but no driveshaft down the road behind you

Squiggle Dog 04-03-2019 11:13 PM

ECS Tuning contacted me and said that the part arrival will be delayed another day, putting the estimated arrival time to them to the 11th of this month. I'm really hoping they deliver and don't come back saying they can't get it, or play an endless game of delays.

If this doesn't work out, maybe I should buy all brands of them and see if I can choose the nicest one of the bunch and sell the rest. It would cost less than what I'm having to pay for genuine, but I'm happy to pay the price for genuine if they can provide it.

you could always buy one from FCP Euro, they offer lifetime warranty on everything they sell. I looked and it seems like they sell the rein brand and its only $9.22!
I have had good success with ECS and eeuro as well. I just liked the fact that I didnt have to worry for a long time because all my parts are lifetime warranty.
