I can't get the center vent out from dash

On a W124 for the center vent in the dash, there's an allen wrench needed to detach a long screw from behind the vent and I've done that. I've also released the little metal clips that you pull up or down. Only the RIGHT SIDE of the vent has a screw (the glove box side). On the left side, I have the instrument cluster out but ....there is no screw to take out, yet that's where the vent is stuck. I've pulled pretty hard without breaking the plastic or messing up the dash and it just won't come. There's got to be a clip or something there instead of a screw.

Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks
