06 Sprinter opinions?

I'm looking at an '06 sprinter, with the duallies, 200k.

They're asking 4 grand for the behemoth, is this thing stolen or knocking on death's door?

Anything in specific I should look for on that engine/ chassis?

I think these vans are great but have their flaws

Things to look out for:
Black Death
EGR issues
Turbo silencer issues
Transmission issues
Rust

Black death is the most serious. You will have to inspect under the injector cover to see if the injectors have been leaking. Here's a great video on what to look for and how to fix it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zEp4GjcXy3o

The EGR issue is usually the valve getting plugged up and sticking open, I believe the correct procedure is to replace it and clean out carbon in the intake. You can also get a tune to delete the function of the EGR.

I'm not entirely familiar with the turbo silencer issue as I have a 2003 Sprinter which doesn't have this part. You essentially replace the old plastic part with a new metal part.

Transmission issues: The main problem on these transmissions is a leak at the electrical connector and the failure of the conductor plate. Replace both at once, a fairly straight forward and affordable job. There's a few affordable kits out there that you can install in a worn transmission to get rid of certain issues, but really, these transmissions are very reliable.

I'd also look for rust, that's an issue on all Sprinters.

None of these, maybe besides a bad case of black death or rust, would scare me away.

In ours, we also had to replace the turbo after the drain seal went and we lost a lot of oil. That's probably not the biggest concern but is also a cheap part that's easy to replace.
