w210 transmission swaps & TCU mods/tuning

Anyone here well versed in 722.6 transmission swaps into w210? I've heard the 05 E320 CDI transmission is a huge upgrade over the one that came in w210, can hold waaay more power. Both are 722.6 but the CDI got a much beefier version. I'd love to swap one into my w210, but am unsure of the consequences with the electronics. A couple questions if anyone here is in the know.

1a. I believe the TCU is VIN coded in the w210. Would the original TCU work with the CDI transmission?

1b. If the CDI TCU is required, does anyone have a source for someone who can recode it to match my car's VIN?

1c. If I have a CR1 Immo bypass device installed in the engine ECU, will it allow the "foreign" CDI TCU without needing to recode it?

2. Every MB transmission & TCU tuner I've found seems to specialize in the E55 AMG and has no experience with E300's. Anyone know of a turbodiesel friendly MB transmission specialist?

3. Has anyone here actually done this swap? 05 E320 CDI transmission into a w210? Or a euro w210 CDI transmission into a US w210?

4. The ofgear.dk 722.6 stand-alone transmission controller might be an alternative to the MB TCU, but they offer only "unconfirmed, use at your own risk" integration info. Anyone heard of this being successfully used in a w210: W210 Cars

Thanks in advance. It seems w210 E300 transmission swap and tuning info is sparse on this side of the pond.

Search here for user NW124 aka whipplem104. He is pretty much the 722.6 expert. Any v8 trans is as strong as the cdi trans. AMG just has different solenoids I think and its not worth your time or money. You can probably just swap the bellhousing to a v8 trans, only thing is you will have a different 1 and 2 gear ratio.
Not sure if you will need a controller for that swap unless you want one.
As a side note, whipplem104 has used the "small" 722.6 (as you currently have) with no issues at 300 ft lbs at the wheels

Yes I've heard the V8 trans is another option, but the CDI trans should have gear ratios (maybe just 1 and 2 as you mentioned) that are better suited. Good info, thank you.
