1979 240D - OM616 - working on this project and I am stumped at the moment. I just put a known good IP on the car... I think I'm missing something.

Male splines on both the IP and the block. Is there supposed to be a collar connecting the injection pump to the block, I can't see how the IP is driven any other way??? Im also unsure how the **** my car ran without a collar if that is the case.

Where can I get the collar? If I can't buy it, what are the dimensions of the collar, I'll bring my busted IP to a machine shop and have them make me a collar.....

Yep, a splined collar is exactly it. If you removed your old IP, then it's around there somewhere.

If there wasn't one.............then the old IP was probably fine and that was your problem.

Any chance in a blue moon you'd know the part number and/or dimensions of said splined collar? Mine is either lost forever or destroyed.... no junkyards around me have any 123D cars for me to attempt to scavenge one
