Question Injector tester/Bosch delivery valve experts

I bought this injector tester from India. It does its job but it leaks diesel while not in use around the delivery valve body. I tried to fix it but now it will not prime. The internal is very similar to the IP but I can't make it pump. I might have buggered up a seal or something. The blow up diagram from the vendor shows a DV 'holder'. I am missing it but I don't know what it looks like and where does it go. So I am stuck. Any idea on how to put it back together again? Check out the picture below.

Thumbs up

Hoo boy ~ this is why I teat mine like it's made of glass .

I didn't know they had a web site, when I broke the plastic resivoir I just E-mailed them and they sold me another .

If it leaked from new, ask them to replace it under warranty .

In the attached pic I circled the delivery valve holder.

When it is assembled is it leaking out of the large threaded hole area?

Or is it leaking down where the hand valve?

If it is leaking past the large hole threads there is supposed to be a seal between the delivery valve holder down inside on top of the outer part of the delivery valve.

However, if you degreased the outer and inner threads with brake cleaner and filled in the external threads with that brown messy (old school stuff that has been around since the 1950's) non-hardening or hardening Permatex that comes in a tube and assembled it letting it cure for a day or so I bet it would not leak around the threads.

On later model injection pumps, there would be an o-ring on the DV holder, the part circled in yellow, pushed up above the threads.

The fluted pin on the far right goes first, then the spring, then the DV holder.

On a real injection pump, there would also be a copper washer, over the fluted pin, seals against the bottom of the DV holder.

Exclamation Sealants

Oh yes ~ Permatex # 1H ~ that's the good stuff but it's also the final solution as once it there getting it off again requires an act of congress and a vat of alcohol .

This is the picture of the blow up illustration picture came with the unit. Nothing is taken apart except

9 - DV spring
8 - DV Joint cannot find it anywhere, with arrow. Probably lost it by mistake
7 - Bosch delivery valve ( far right on the first post picture )

What is this DV Joint? Same as the copper seal in the IP DV? It is not very clear from the illustration where it goes. I put it back together without item 8 and I cannot get it to work. I like to get it fix as I hate to create more landfill.

Is this from Indian Machine Tools, if so mine leaked from reservoir holder fro day one - not a problem as slight.

You need to lock the two way valve into'test mode' otherwise will drain down.

For a few extra bucks they changed the gauge to mx 200 bar, this was to give greater accuracy for the injectors being tested.

I have since ordered more shims and nozzles which are superb.

Bit of additional info here

#8 DV joint looks like a copper washer / seal, just like a real delivery valve.

There is a non-hardening and one that hardens. Just use the non-hardening.

If it leaks from reservoir connection, more than likely will run down underside of connecting arm to main body.
