Monark nozzle availability

I'm looking for a set of Monark nozzles for my 84 300td, but it seems the usual places (such as mercedessource) are all out of stock. Pelican and some others have Bosch nozzles, but I've heard they're hit or miss.

Is there a good place to get these? Or are they becoming hard to find.

Send a PM to Greazzer on this site.

I found them on eBay, shipped direct from Germany. Around $170 for all 5 nozzles.

Yea, I found some listings on ebay from germany, shipping isn't even that bad. I was just hoping to buy them from a US distributor where it won't take several weeks in shipping.
mercedessource includes the heatshields and shipping won't take several weeks... But yea, I might just suck it up and buy them from ebay.

Could of gotten the Firad's.

I saw those, but I haven't heard anything about them. Everything I've read says Monark are the best. I may as well do the job once and do it well. I bought the Monarks off ebay, once they get here I'll send them with the injectors to greazzer and my car will me in top working order again.

You'll waste more time sorting through opinions here than the difference in shipping. I've gotten them from that german shop in a week. YMMV.

Oh yea, I've seen the uhh... differing opinions... I'm not in a huge rush but I'd like to get it done before I do a timing belt service on my daily driver. Just incase something goes wrong, I can rely on the mercedes (because my 32 year old maserati is, well, probably not the best backup car...).

I just got some as part of a kit this past week...

Was hoping to use them but if you look at my other post, zero compression on my 300D on #5 means the Monarks ain't going to help me...good luck with yours...I hear these spray really well...

That's a bummer, sorry to hear. I see rusty 300D's on craigslist in $1000 range from time to time, I guess it's time to start looking for a donor car.
Everything I've heard about the bosch nozzles is that they have poor quality control. I guess with Monark and Bosio stopping production we aren't going to have much choice going into the future.

As a heads up, Monark stopped production last year. DES merged with Monark in 2014 ... so, limited stock out there. Maybe no more German maker of nozzles. When buying from Germany make sure you really specify what you want. A few folks got burned and German eBay will play "it's a language deal" and you end up being screwed. As for Bosio, same deal I believe. Stopped production a few months ago. I am assuming the global position is to get rid of old German steel, one car at a time now for those that remain. I have been looking for a US Firm to make me private label nozzles now for over a year using specs which would be unique. Not one US Firm is even remotely interested, regardless of the bounty I offer them ...

Shipped this stuff off last week, I'm stoked to have it come back all shiny.

I ordered a set of the Monark "261's" from Ebay seller Dieselparts9000 a few weeks ago. A friend has had really bad experiences with him - pretty sure he shipped the wrong stuff, then denied it, then it just went downhill from there - but I got what I ordered, in a reasonable time frame. FWIW

FYI, after installing the new injectors, don't be surprised if your car runs better with a little bump in the IP timing. Myself and several others have seen good results with 2-4* more timing after new nozzles. The 261's can run especially poor if timing is slow.

Interesting, this is the first I read about timing with new nozzles.

I have a backup set. Between those and the new set I installed less than 10k ago I should be good for life. Worst case is after changing them in another 250K I'll have to remove and replace them one at a time until I'm down to just four good ones. I doubt the engine or the owner will last that long.
