Power window motor
Hello everyone been awhile since I posted guess thats good news as put pretty many miles on my 85 300 sd with no major problems. I have a slight problem now with my front right passenger window motor as it quit working. I took it apart and cleaned it put it together it worked a bit then bound up took it apart again and this time the small tab that holds the brushes in broke off so I put a small piece of aluminum in back side to hold brush spring in well I fried the motor its dead. Does any one have a used motor for right front window new is too expensive.

Get a motor and window regulator out of any 81-85 126 car. There were some changes in materials and number of teeth but the unit will transfer if you get the whole thing as a unit. The units are location specific meaning you need a part from the same door as the one not working on your car. This site has info on number of teeth etc if you look up the parts.
Clean and lube the tracks while you have it out. Also lube the latch while you're at it.

Thanks for the advice JM. but playing with it I was able to get some new springs and figure a way to keep them in w/o shorting out the window motor currently is working I kept the door panel off in case it gets stuck until I feel safe it wo'nt. Am working on buying an SD for a parts car because just for a new motor they want about $250 ouch.
